Friday 15 May 2015 The President, Mr Wilkinson , took the Chair at 9 a.m. and read Prayers. MEMBERS RETURNED The Clerk laid on the Table writs for the return of the following members of the Legislative Council: Craig Maxwell Farrell (Derwent) Michael Victor Gaffney (Mersey) Ivan Noel Dean (Windermere) The Clerk advised the Council that the members for Derwent and Windermere had this day made the affirmation and taken the oath of allegiance. ANTI-DISCRIMINIATION AMENDMENT BILL 2015 (No. 8) CORRECTIONS AMENDMENT (PAROLE BOARD) BILL 2015 (No. 10) First Reading Bills received from the House of Assembly and read the first time. FIREARMS (MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS) BILL 2015 (No. 3) TASMANIAN QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY AMENDMENT BILL 2015 (No. 12) The House of Assembly advised that it agreed to the Council amendments. MOTION Committee Membership - Reappointment of Member for Windermere Dr GOODWIN (Pembroke - Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council - Motion) (by leave) - Mr President, I move - That the honourable member for Windermere, Mr Dean, be reappointed to serve on the Standing Committee of Privileges of this Council; the Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee of Public Accounts; the Joint Parliament Standing Committee on Integrity; Government Administration Committee B; and the Legislative Council Select Committee on Growing Tasmania's Economy. Motion agreed to. 2
Friday 15 May 2015 MOTION Committee Membership - Reappointment of Member for Derwent Dr GOODWIN (Pembroke - Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council - Motion) (by leave) - Mr President, I move - That the honourable member for Derwent, Mr Farrell, be reappointed to serve on the Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works; the Joint Parliamentary Library Committee; Government Administration Committee A; and the Legislative Council Select Committee on Growing Tasmania's Economy. Motion agreed to. MOTION Committee Membership - Reappointment of Member for Mersey Dr GOODWIN (Pembroke - Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council - Motion) (by leave) - Mr President, I move - That the honourable member for Mersey, Mr Gaffney, be reappointed to serve on the Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee on Integrity; Government Administration Committee A; and the Joint Select Committees on Preventative Health Care and the Tasmanian Greyhound Racing Industry. Motion agreed to. Messages transmitted to the House of Assembly acquainting that House accordingly.
