Parliamentary Papers 1856 - (current year)

About the project

In 2019, the Tasmanian Parliamentary Library embarked on a project to digitise early parliamentary papers (1856 - 1901) to ensure their preservation and improve public access for research. The Tasmanian Family History Society Inc. (TFHS) was engaged as a community partner. The project would not have been possible without the valued support and assistance of the TFHS.

A steering committee was formed, and funding was generously provided by the Tasmanian Community Fund. The digitised papers were launched in March 2021.

To bridge the gap between the initial collection and existing holdings, the Tasmanian Parliamentary Library undertook further digitisation of papers from 1902 - 2012. All documents have been digitised to archival standards by Acrodata Pty. Ltd.

The Tasmanian Parliamentary Library continues to add papers from each session of Parliament to the full-text searchable database. (Please note that papers tabled but not ordered to be printed are not included.)
